Browsing the website and cookies

• We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and no analytics service is installed on this site.
• If you choose a dark, light or system appearance, we remember that choice in one small cookie (hpi-theme) on your device for a year. It holds only that setting and is never used for tracking.
• Fonts are served from this website. YouTube videos are not loaded until you press Play; once you do, the video is served by YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode and YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
• Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.

Applying to be a guest

When you submit the guest application form we store:

• your name, email address, current role and (optionally) organization;
• the professional links, areas of expertise, proposed topic and reasons you provide;
• optionally, how you heard about the show;
• the date and time you confirmed you had read this notice, and the notice version.

We use this information only to review your application and, if appropriate, to contact you about a conversation. Applications are read by a person; no automated decision is made about you. Submitting an application does not guarantee an invitation.

We send you one confirmation email and notify our team by email that an application has arrived. Emails are delivered by a transactional email provider acting on our behalf. Your application is visible only to the small team who manage the show through a password-protected workspace.

To limit spam, we temporarily keep a one-way keyed hash of your IP address and email address in order to count recent submissions. The raw values are not stored for this purpose.

Guest profiles

If you appear on the show, we may invite you to review the details we would show about you (name, role, biography and public links) using a personal link that expires and can be used once. Nothing you submit is published until our team reviews it, and we show only approved information. Contact details and internal notes are never published.

How long we keep information

Our current working schedule, pending legal review: applications that do not proceed are anonymised after about 12 months; profile links are deleted about 30 days after they expire; recipient addresses in our email delivery log are removed after about 6 months. You can ask us to delete your application sooner.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your application, by contacting [To be completed before launch]. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
